Purpose of Processing
CIT, as the secondary packager of the medicinal product, may collect personal data, including special categories of data (health data), which will be processed exclusively for the following purposes:
• To collect and transmit reports of suspected adverse reactions to the manufacturer;
• To fulfill pharmacovigilance obligations as required by European and national regulations;
• To ensure the safety and proper use of medicinal products.
Legal Basis
Processing is necessary for reasons of public interest in the area of public health (Article 9, paragraph 2, letter i) of the GDPR) and to comply with legal obligations concerning pharmacovigilance.
Method of Processing
Data are processed both in paper and electronic form, in compliance with appropriate security measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Data Recipients – Transfer Abroad
Data may be disclosed to manufacturing companies and/or to the competent national and international health authorities, solely for the above-mentioned purposes. Data may be transferred outside the European Union, depending on the location of the manufacturer, with the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Retention Period
Data will be retained for the period required by pharmacovigilance regulations.
Data Subject’s Rights
The data subject—if the necessary requirements are met—has the right to obtain confirmation of the existence of the data and the purposes for which they are used. Regarding the processing of personal data, the data subject has the right to request from the Data Controller confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning them exist, to obtain access to personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability to another Data Controller. The data subject also has the right to object to the processing for legitimate reasons. These rights may be exercised by submitting a request to the Data Controller via email or registered letter to the contact details given in Article 1 of this notice. Finally, the data subject always has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
